Severn Trent Water has provided an update on the River Mease Improvement Project, which includes upgrades to local sewage treatment works and the installation of a 23km pipeline running from Leicestershire to the River Tame in Elford.
Most of the pipeline is being installed across private land, but there are several points where it must cross public highways. These crossings may result in temporary road closures of 2–3 weeks, or shorter where possible. Where tunnelling can be used, only speed restrictions will be required. In locations where roads act as cul‑de‑sacs, temporary bypass routes will be created with the support of landowners to maintain access for residents.
A list of affected roads and indicative dates has been provided. Final dates may change depending on planning and permit approvals.
Residents and businesses directly affected will receive letters ahead of each crossing, and further information is available at: www.stwater.co.uk/planned-improvements
