The Parish Council have been contacted by Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service:
“I’m writing to inform you of a concerning trend involving the theft of specialist hydraulic cutting equipment from fire stations across neighbouring fire and rescue services. Unfortunately, we have previously had one of our own stations in Staffordshire affected.
These tools are critical for rescuing people trapped in vehicles and other emergency situations, and their loss can significantly impact our ability to respond effectively.
While we are taking steps to enhance security at our stations, particularly in more rural areas, we are also asking for your support in raising awareness within your communities.
We are not asking anyone to intervene directly. However, we would be extremely grateful if you could encourage residents to report any suspicious activity around fire stations to the police. This includes unfamiliar vehicles parked nearby, individuals loitering near station buildings, or any attempts to access station grounds outside of normal activity.”
