From soft archery and dance, through to parkour and boxing, there’s lots on offer for young people in Lichfield and Burntwood this February half term.
Lichfield District Council’s Active Lichfield team has launched its Getin2it spring half term programme, featuring a variety of active sessions to keep holiday boredom at bay.
Highlights for the week include;
- Soft archery for 7 to 14 year olds in Lichfield and Burntwood on Tuesday 22 February and Thursday 24 February. Delivered by qualified coaches, sessions are for beginners and use suction cup arrows to hit targets. Sessions cost just £2 and need to be booked in advance on the Active Lichfield website
- Attitude Juniors Dance for 9 to 13 year olds at Burntwood Leisure Centre from 3.40pm to 4.40pm on Monday 21 February. This session costs just £2 and does not need to be booked in advance.
- Parkour sessions with EMP Parkour at the Parkour Facility next to the Skate park at Cherry close on Wednesday 23 February. The session costs just £1 and there’s no need to book.
The council is also running its regular Getin2it sessions for young people aged from 7 to 25 over the half term break. They include football, outdoor fitness, boxing and multi sports with the majority of activities free or costing just £1 and with no need for advance booking.
Councillor Iain Eadie, Cabinet Member responsible for Leisure, said: “We’re delighted to be able to offer such a wide variety of sports and leisure activities for young people to try out in Burntwood and Lichfield.
“These sessions are a great way to get young people out of the house and engaged in positive activities this half-term and maybe try their hand at something new.”
